Mark Bacon has experience as international trumpet soloist. He served from 2000-2013 as Principal Trumpet of the Cape Ann Symphony  performed with the Lexington Symphony, the Massachusetts Symphony, the Thayer Symphony, the Cape Symphony and Symphony by the Sea.

In Europe, Mark performed as a soloist in Lisbon, Portugal at the Iberico Theatre, BRH, The Museum of Viera Silva, The Church of St. Louis, St. George's Anglican Church, the Church of Nossa Senhora, and others. His playing has been heard at weddings, Sunday services, baptisms, symphony and choral concerts, and many other musical engagements since 1983. 

His chamber collaborations include Boston Brass, Bala Brass, BBQ Brass, Chatham Chorale, Neponset Choral Society,  Paul Madore Chorale, Sacred Choral Artists and other ensembles. 

As a featured soloist with orchestras, Mark has appeared with the Cape Ann Symphony in 2005, 2010, and again in 2012, the Quincy Symphony in 2010, at Gordon College and The University of Massachusetts Lowell. He has also been featured at Methuen Memorial Music Hall, Saint Anthony's Shrine in Boston, The AbendMusik Festival, The Museum of Russian Icons, The Bedford Library Chamber Music Series, and on many occasions at the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Providence.

A graduate of Walnut Hill School, and an alumnus of The Tanglewood Institute, and Phillips Academy Andover, Mark holds a Bachelors of Music and Philosophy degree (magna cum laude) from The University of Massachusetts, and received his Master of Music degree from Indiana University. 

Mark has an active roster of outstanding private students in Massachusetts and his recordings can be found on film, television, YouTube, and are also available on compact disc.
